Reducing cost and improving the quality of a product is usually not possible to achieve simultaneously in any engineering environment. TF Design’s focus during this product development was to find a low cost kiln solution while maintaining the manufacturing and drying quality associated with the existing TF Design timber drying kilns.

The new low cost kiln concept satisfies the basic requirements of the South African timber industry for an affordable drying kiln. A completed range of kiln sizes is available from 20 m³ to 150 m³ timber capacity. The first installation of the low cost kiln proved to be highly successful. We believe that this kiln concept can allow many smaller saw mills to produce high quality timber competitively.
